Back in the summer I got a message from a friend of mine who I have done several photo shoots for in the past. I just love her and her family so much, they are awesome and her babies are gorgeous!!! She got ahold of me and said that her little sister was getting married and they needed a photographer! Of course, I said I would be there. It was a small backyard wedding at their parents farm. The house and the land is so so nice. Pine trees line the driveway, the pond is lovely, the house is amazing, and I can’t say enough nice things about the family. There are also a few connections to the family and I. First, the older sister that I mentioned before, Rachel, well she and I went to high school together, their mom worked at the college where I earned my bachelors degree and was actually the person that helped me set up my internship with a photography studio. Funny how things come full circle like that. 🙂
Now onto the wedding. Emma and Chris are a lot of fun, super friendly, so easy to get along with, so laid back about the whole day, and crazy about each other. They met in Ireland, Chris is Irish and has the coolest accent. I loved listening to him and his parents talk. Emma and Chris live in Colorado and wanted a small wedding. They ended up planning the whole event in just 10 days. It was sweet, intimate, fun, and had several moments that everyone was crying tears of “oh thats so sweet” ❤
The beautiful bride came across the pond in a little row boat decorated with flowers with her mom and dad, while her handsome groom waited on the opposite shore with the rest of us onlookers. They wrote their own vows and the brides nephew and niece were the keepers of the rings. After the ceremony everyone went up to shaded patio area where the food and drinks were and a few family members did toasts. This was one of those moments where everyone got a little misty eyed. At one point, Emma said, “even the photographer is crying!” Guilty. This photographer loves love. 🙂
After toasting, crying, and laughing, we did a few posed portraits of the couple and of course with their families and close friends.
The rest of the evening was a relaxing and fun reception with food, drinks, live music, laughing, corn hole, and even a pink flamingo pinata!! 😀
I was so happy to have been asked to be the photographer for Emma and Chris and to be a little part of this wonderful day. They are truly awesome people and I wish them a lifetime of happiness.
Thanks for stopping by and please don’t hesitate to drop a kind word on the blog post or contact me for wedding inquires. Have a fantastic day!!
